Orhan Pamuk - Snow
First published in 2006, Snow is partly based on Orhan Pamuk’s travel notes and personal memories from his journey to the city of Kars. Centered around the main character, Ka, the novel blends elements of tragedy, drama, and irony, creating a powerful and layered narrative.
Set in the snow-covered and tension-filled city of Kars, the story explores themes of identity, politics, religion, and belonging. Of particular interest to Armenian readers is the novel’s subtle engagement with the topic of the Armenian Genocide, adding historical depth to an already complex backdrop.
Snow is a gripping and thought-provoking work by the Nobel Prize–winning author, offering a unique literary reflection on Turkey’s past and present.
